Update on progress
Hello!
I just wanted to give a quick head-ups regarding the upcoming update that was supposed to drop tomorrow but will most likely not.
If you want to get an insight on how things are being done and stuff, feel free to visit my twitch at: https://www.twitch.tv/nishiiscute
I don't have any stream schedule but it's either every second day or just weekdays depending if I have something interesting to work on or just some mundane things that are not really worth streaming anyway. With that plug out of the way, let us proceed with the overview.
So for those who do not follow the project's Github board the progress is constantly being made, I used up some of my time tracking various bugs left after recent changes but that is nothing new. Hence I will try to test features out more thoroughly before releasing them.
Still majority of time have been spent rebalancing entirety of the game. As I mentioned in my previous devlog, the balance was all over the place, mostly in favor of enemies. So here is a little bit of what I've been working on these past few days:
Each character will receive it's own perk tree that you can progress through by just playing and leveling up the character, these are mainly subtle stat changes to help players push even further without obtaining more shards
On top of that, upgrades in the shop were also adjusted to provide more meaningful power changes allowing for even better scaling into the late/early game.
Speaking of game stages, difficulties have been adjusted, although not yet final, game should be less punishing early on to give players flexibility with picking certain weapons or items and setting up proper builds in the future. Late game enemies were also tweaked to be less spongy and slower, once again, to give back some control to the player.
Aaaaaand finally onto shards, these are not as exciting as I wanted them to be, I mean, +8% towards a stat the character might not even care about just didn't feel good at all, especially since you just spent your precious gems on it. So following the changes these will also be completely reworked to focus on characters playstyle as well as giving much more meaningful buffs or even altering the way you might use that character, still retaining what makes "them" them, that is.
Anyway, that's just a bit of an update to let yall know that the project is still going strong~
